The principle is as simple as it is effective and is suitable for almost every application to protect packaged goods from destructive corrosion. It is irrelevant whether the goods are transported by sea or air or stored on land. INTERCEPT® consists of highly porous copper particles that are permanently cross-linked in a plastic compound.
The particles (e.g. salts, sulphur compounds, ozone, nitrogen oxides and other so-called “corrosive gases”) react much earlier with elements present in the atmosphere that cause and promote corrosion. INTERCEPT® reacts and permanently binds corrosive gases, creating a neutralised atmosphere that protects all materials stored in it from corrosion and ageing. Even moisture that migrates through the packaging is freed from the corrosive elements and no longer leads to corrosion.
Since the effect has not only been confirmed in standardised and independent tests, but has also been proven to work flawlessly in actual worldwide shipments and storage for up to 20 years, the guarantees and liability assumptions for Intercept products and applications go far beyond the known standard.
In addition to the excellent protective effect, it should also be noted that the products do not emit any chemicals, are recyclable and meet all occupational health and safety requirements and therefore do not place an unnecessary burden on people or the environment.
