COMPETENCE PARTNER
The SVI stands for holistic packaging thinking.
We are the packaging-neutral association of the Swiss packaging industry. We represent and promote the interests of all companies involved in the life cycle of packaging – from production and filling processes to recycling. In this way, we support the further development of the entire packaging sector from a functional, ecological and economic point of view and demonstrate the innovative capacity of the industry.
The SVI puts its members at the centre.
We offer comprehensive information and advice in all industry-specific matters – competent and up-to-date. In addition, we create networking platforms and promote encounters and cooperation among our members. This makes us a strong partner and service provider for the packaging industry.
The SVI trains packaging specialists.
We are the leading partner for in-service training and further education in the packaging industry. Our training programme is level-appropriate, practice-oriented and comprehensive. Our graduates occupy important key positions and are thus a success factor for the competitiveness of the Swiss packaging industry.

Andreas Zopfi, Managing Director SVI
‘Despite globalised procurement and sales markets, we stand by our domestic market and are able to present the great innovative strength of the Swiss packaging industry to decision-makers at a Swiss trade fair year after year. Of course, the concentration of potential customers is higher at international trade fairs, but so is the number of competitors. The question arises: can I reach the decision-makers for the important sales markets for our industry in Switzerland at international trade fairs? Will I reach the skilled labour that is important for my future? The majority of our production takes place in Switzerland and we also recruit our specialised staff from Switzerland. For the SVI, the partnership with the EMPACK trade fair organisation is a strategic partnership. We are committed to Switzerland as a trade fair location and therefore also to having our own packaging trade fair.’
